Ofisa Maendeleo Wilaya ya Ruangwa, Rashid Namkulala amekemea vikali Mila na desturi zinazochochea ukatili wa wanawake na watoto wilayani humo. Ameyasema hayo juzi wakati wa mdahalo kwa wanafunzi wa shule ya Sekondari Nambilanje na ya Msingi Nambilanje. Chama Cha Wanahabari Wanawake (TAMWA) kimesimamia mafunzo kwa kamati ya ulinzi na usalama ya Kijiji cha Nambilanje na midahalo na majadiliano kwa shule za Msingi na Sekondari kuhusu Mila na desturi zinazochochea mimba za utotoni wilayani humo.

The Tazania Media Women's Association (TAMWA) has appointed Ms Rose Reuben as the new Executive Director effectively from January 7, 2019. 

The new Director is replacing Ms Edda Sanga, whose term in office has expired after saving the Association for over three years.

Come visit the World Press Photo Exhibition 2019 on its world-wide tour showcasing the stories that matter! News photographs and stories from all over the world are seen in this exhibition. From environmental issues to sports, there will be something for everyone. This years’ exhibition is particularly special for Tanzania because one of the winning stories includes photos made by Anna Boyiazis of women having swimming lessons from instructor Kazija in Zanzibar.

OPEN DISCUSSION ON PHOTO JOURNALISM

Is telling your thoughts, perceptions and stories through photography your dream? Then this could be something for you! On Friday 1 February 2019, 15:00 pm at the Alliance Française (Dar es Salaam), Hivos together with Tamwa will organize an open discussion about photojournalism in which experts from the field will exchange their experiences and thoughts.  Even more exciting is that during this event two local photographers will be awarded with a grant of EUR 5,000 each from Voice, a partnership of Hivos and Oxfam Novib! Dar es Salaam. Chama cha Wanahabari Wanawake Tanzania(TAMWA) kinatoa pongezi za dhati kwa mwanaharakati wa masuala ya haki za binadamu na Mkurugenzi wa Taasisi ya Msichana Initiative, Rebecca Gyumi kwa kushinda tuzo ya Umoja wa Mataifa katika kipengele cha utetezi wa haki za binadamu kwa mwaka 2018.

Rais wa Baraza Kuu la Umoja wa Mataifa, Maria Fernanda alimtangaza Gyumi pamoja na washindi wengine, Octoba 25 mwaka huu.

Washindi wengine ni marehemu Asma Jahangir , mwanasheria wa Haki za Binadamu wa Pakistan, Joenia Wapichana, mwanaharakati wa haki za watu wa jamii za pembezoni wa Brazil na  taasisi ya Front Line Defenders, inayojihusisha na ulinzi wa haki za binadamu, Ireland.

“TAMWA inaamini kuwa, ushindi wa Gyumi ni ushindi kwa watoto na wanawake wote nchini ambao haki zao zimekuwa zikikandamizwa,” anasema Edda Sanga, Mkurugenzi, TAMWA.

Wengine waliowahi kushinda tuzo hii miaka ya nyuma ni pamoja na aliyewahi kuwa mke wa Rais wa Marekani, Franklin Roosevelt, Eleanor Roosevelt, mwanaharakati wa haki za binadamu na kiongozi wa dini wa Marekani, Martin Luther King.

 Wengine ni  aliyewahi kuwa Rais wa Afrika Kusini, Nelson Mandela na  Kamati ya Kimataifa ya Shirika la Msalaba Mwekundu(ICRC)

 Sherehe za utoaji wa tuzo hizi zitafanyika Desemba huko New York, Marekani.

Dar es Salaam. Chama cha Wanahabari Wanawake Tanzania, (TAMWA), kinajumuika na Waafrika wote kumpongeza Rais mpya wa Ethiopia, Sahle-Work Zewde.

 Sahle-work anakuwa Rais wa kwanza mwanamke kuiongoza Ethiopia baada ya kuteuliwa na bunge la nchi hiyo jana Octoba 25.

Taarifa iliyotumwa na TAMWA leo Oktoba 26, imesema Rais Sahle-Work, anaendelea kupeperusha bendera za wanawake waliowahi kuwa marais Afrika.

Marais wengine waliowahi kushika nyadhifa hizo ni pamoja na Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, (Liberia), Joyce Banda (Malawi) na Ameenah Gurib-Fakim, aliyewahi kuwa Rais wa Mauritius.

“Kuteuliwa kwake ni chachu ya mabadiliko zaidi kwa wanawake ambao awali hawakuaminika wanaweza kuongoza,”imesema taarifa hiyo ya TAMWA

 “TAMWA, inaendelea kuhamasisha kuwepo kwa uwakilishi wa wanawake katika nafasi mbalimbali za uongozi hapa nchini,”imesema taarifa hiyo.

Katika moja ya hotuba  zake Sahle-Work amesema; “Kukosekana kwa amani kwanza kunawaathiri wanawake, hivyo wakati wa uongozi wangu nahamasisha zaidi nafasi za wanawake katika kuleta amani.”
